Why is Linux+ so expensive?

today one of my student ask me a questions,Why is Linux+ so expensive?
he said I have done my MCSA, My CCNA and I wanted to get started in Linux. I got a recommendation of the Linux+ as a good place for a beginner to aim.
The exam is double the price of Cisco or Microsoft certifications....
It strikes me as a little weird considering, certainly for me, cisco and microsoft certs are more reputable/ well known.

if someone was Linux+ certified could get free voucher. There was form to fill up and first 400 people got it for free.
Anyway, I'm one of them and i've exam on Thursday But still have to wait til September for results and then i they decide that u got enough points, You'll be Linux+ Certified with the newest exam.
